Jam To Soulful Jazz At Olympia Bakery In Kalk Bay
Jazz up Sunday night and enjoy the sounds of The Frank Paco Band in an intimate venue near the sea
Could there be a better way to laze away a leisurely late-autumn Sunday evening than by enjoying the sweet sounds of some fine jazz? Unlikely. Which is why, if you’re a jazz fan, you can’t miss Jazz at the Bakery at the Olympia Bakery in Kalk Bay on Sunday, 27 May 2018.
None other than The Frank Paco Band will be performing on the evening, starting at 7pm. The Frank Paco Band comprises Frank Paco on drums and vocals, with Naledi Masilo as lead vocalist. Buddy Wells is on the saxophone, Peter Ndala on bass while Brathew van Schalkwyk is on piano keys.
Frank Paco, originally from Mozambique, started playing drums at the age of 11. Back then his drums were old oil canisters – such was the reality of living in a worn-torn country – but music he played. From humble beginnings, Frank has gone on to perform with some of the biggest names in the biz, including Monique Bingham, Jonathan Butler, Johnny Clegg, Miriam Makeba and the late Hugh Masekela to name a few.
