Hit Or Miss? Unsuccessful Scams And Unlikely Characters Bring This Musical Comedy To Life

Don’t miss this laugh-out-loud comedy. Make your way to Muizenberg for an award-winning musical comedy by Mel Brooks with a twist on show at The Masque Theatre on Friday, 6 July 2018, from 8pm to 10:30pm. The show will take place at the same time every Wednesday to Saturday until Saturday, 21 July 2018.

Since its 2001 debut, Mel Brooks’ musical, The Producers, has been wowing crowds with its outrageous comedy, winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards. The show is based on the 1968 film and continues to please crowds today.

Set in the post-war 50s, the story follows fading Broadway producer Max Bialystock who is hopelessly trying to get back into the world of theatre again. He discovers an unlikely partner in meek accountant Leo Bloom who thinks that they could make more money from a flop than they would with a hit.  

The two set out to produce the worst musical to ever hit Broadway, raise two million dollars to finance the show, and take the money for a trip to Rio when the show inevitably closes after just one performance. Against all odds, the show is a complete hit.
