A feast of Cabernet Sauvignons from four boutique cellars awaits you at Holden Manz in Franschhoek on Thursday, 9 February when you can dine with the winemakers of some of South Africa's finest estates.
Karl Lambour and Schalk Opperman of Holden Manz will be joined by the winemakers of Tokara, Rust en Vrede and La Bri to showcase their top Cabernet Sauvignons during a memorable four course food and wine pairing dinner. Every course has been matched perfectly with a different Cabernet Sauvignon with culinary creations by Chef Bjorn Dingemans at the Franschhoek Kitchen above the Holden Manz cellar.
For the Cabernet Sauvignon from fellow Franschhoek boutique wine farm, La Bri, Chef Bjorn who has worked with some of London’s finest chefs before joining Holden Manz, has chosen prosciutto with fresh pear and parmesan. A Cabernet Sauvignon and beetroot infused risotto is the partner for the Tokara wine. Rust en Vrede’s finest will be served with an aged rib-eye steak napped with a Cabernet Sauvignon jus. For the grand finale, Chef Bjorn’s famous chocolate torte will be served with Holden Manz’ very own Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2010 vintage is full bodied and teems with ripe red berry fruit, the perfect foil for this rich chocolate dessert.
