The Fringe Arts at the V&A Waterfront

The V&A Waterfront opens its doors to popular local art and design pop-up

From 11 September 2010 the V & A Waterfront’s Alfred Mall will host The Fringe Arts, a pop-up store / gallery at Shop 6 & 7.

Brainchild of Chantal Louw and Thessa Bos, the store / gallery was inspired by the pop-up model popular in the US and Europe, has no fixed address but pops up intermittently in unused and interesting spaces.

Exhibits feature art and design, ‘bread and butter’ ranges by artists, designers and illustrators, as well as limited edition fine art prints by Warren Editions and Artthrob.  Each piece in The Fringe Arts store / gallery is handmade and was conceptualised and manufactured in South Africa.

Art available at The Fringe Arts includes work by Dale Yudelman and Frank van Reenen and limited edition prints by Michael Taylor and David Goldblatt.
