Dragon Power Legendary Fight Night

South Africa’s best muay Thai fighters lock limbs in the ring this March and battle it out for the nation’s number one spot

Get ready to have your socks knocked off at Dragon Power Production’s Legendary Fight Night on Saturday, 8 March 2014 when two of SA’s top muay Thai contenders undefeated champion Jarred ‘Rothweiler’ Rothwell from the Mother City and Thule 'Mr. Muaythai' Mthembu from Durban, go head-to-head in the Ultimate muay Thai Fights (UMF) circuit.

Aside from these two warriors battling it out in the ring, some of Mzansi’s most fearless athletes will spar in a special international MMA fight (Exh).

Tapfuma ‘Twinkle Toes’ Makina, the superstar from reality TV show Way of the Warrior, and Sifu Kru Quentin ‘Dragon’ Chong will host the evening, and female ambassadors for International Muaythai Federation (IFMA) Stacey Webb and Danielle De Wet will also make appearances between rounds. What’s more, spectators can look forward to a special performance by Ubuntu B-Boyz, and there will also be a Scheckter’s Organic Energy drink lounge to relax in and grab some fizzy liquid force. Not to mention, a cash bar will be on site, and refreshments will also be on sale.

Similar to kickboxing, muay Thai, the cultural martial art of Thailand, is a combat sport referred to as 'The Art of Eight Limbs’. Developed hundreds of years ago, muay Thai is a close combat fighting style that uses the entire body as a weapon and is regarded as the most brutal ring sport in the world.

TICKETS FOR THE DRAGON POWER LEGENDARY FIGHT NIGHT

Tickets for the fight night are available via Computicket.com and Computicket outlets, and costs range between R120p/p and R250p/p; children pay full price, and kids younger than the age of four will get in for free provided they sit on an adult’s lap.

Tickets are limited to 1000 seats, so book early if you don’t want to miss out on the event.
