A HOMECOMING, 8 KINGS, AN ENSEMBLE TRIBUTE AND A HIGH SCHOOL BAND AT CTIJF
Jazz Fest Friday is fast approaching, so we're giving you a taster of the acclaimed and award-winning acts taking to the stage this year.
The music lineup has been finalised and includes the Grammy award-winning Gipsy Kings and Cape Town-born international star Jonathan Butler.
The Gipsy Kings, who have sold over 20 million albums in their 30-year career, are bringing their flamenco-tinged sound to the Jazz Fest stage for the first time.
SEE THE GIPSY KINGS PERFORMING LIVE
Grammy award nominee Butler, who last performed at Jazz Fest in 2009, is bringing home the soulful mix of RnB and jazz that has made him one of South Africa's most successful and highly rated music exports.

This year will also include a tribute to Zimbabwean musician Oliver Mtukudzi, who was supposed to do a collaboration with SA legend Vusi Mahlasela, but tragically passed away in January. Mahlasela will be joined by an ensemble group of performers such as Afro Fusion artist Mbeu, Zimbabwean-born Berita and Maduvha, the niece of SA gospel legend Itani Madima.
