Our Pick of Picturesque Places to Pitch a Tent

Sleep under the stars, along the shore, or in a luxury boutique tent

Last Update: 19 September 2018

Before we show you camping spots in the Western Cape that we love, check out how easy it is to use this innovative and green new product for lighting your braai fires…

What is a camping trip without a braai or campfire? Check out this box of five Firefly Biofuel fire starters, good for lighting five fires.

Plus: Damp wood out in the great outdoors? No problem because Firefly Biofuel burns hotter and longer—for a minimum of 20 minutes—than petroleum-based products. It’s made from recycled wood and coffee grounds, which means that it’s super safe for kids and pets. Said coffee grounds now act as a bug repellant in addition to a firestarter, instead of emitting ozone-killing methane gasses in a landfill. Even the packaging is eco-friendly because it is made from recycled paper and is biodegradable. And you can keep breathing the fresh air; these petroleum-free firelighters don’t emit any black smoke, which leaves toxins on your grill and your food, and won’t leave your fingers smelling like chemicals.

A nice green twist for your next camping adventure. Firefly Biofuel fire starters are available from these small retail and online stockists, and soon, at a Pick n Pay near you!
