Coolest Open-to-the-Public Swimming Pools in and around Cape Town

Your guide to some of the coolest places to swim in and around the Mother City

Last updated: 11 November 2016

Summertime is when our pretty city comes alive, and to beat the sizzling temperatures, most locals and visitors descend on the watering holes dotted around the city. Whilst the beaches are certainly beautiful, missioning to these sandy spots can be tedious, so we’ve put together a list of swimming pools, smack bang, in and around the city centre (convenient, hey?).

Whether you enjoy swimming in an Olympic-sized public pool or prefer to have a quick dip in one of Cape Town’s lavish hotel water features, you’ll surely find a swimming spot in our collection where you can get wet ‘n wild or simply cool down and chill out.

Zenith Pool Deck and Sky Bar at the Cape Royale Hotel
Some would say they have the best rooftop view in Cape Town, and since we agree, then they certainly do. Go and have a swim, in the inviting deep blue water, at the Zenith Pool Deck and Sky Bar, while catching the last rays of the sun bouncing off the stadium. You can also order an expertly-mixed cocktail or indulge in their mouth-watering sushi, noodles & tapas. Do you want to know what the best part is? Entrance is absolutely free! So if you’re a keen sun-seeker and cocktail-drinker, the Zenith Pool Deck and Sky Bar is most definitely for you.
Opening hours: Monday – Sunday: 8:30am – 11pm
Costs: Free
