First Options Announced: End-Of-Year Party Ideas To Pitch To Your Boss

Because why leave it up to management

Last Update: 23 August 2019

Take the lead in making your office party an event everyone will remember. We’ve got lots of one-of-a-kind venues and office function ideas that will tick off a bucket list.

Join the biggest beer bash. Cape Town Festival Of Beer's (CTFOB) 10th celebration revolves around two things: Beers. And Friends. And friends and beers. We know that’s guaranteed anecdotes for years. The party is at Hamilton's Rugby Club in Greenpoint from 29 November to 1 December. The 29th of November being a Friday makes it the perfect end-of-year event.

The largest festival of beer (of commercially available beers) in the Southern Hemisphere, CTFOB is bringing even more beer to the people this year and adding plenty of cider to the line-up too.

There will be more than 200 local and international brews to choose from, also food, live music and live rugby. This is the ideal place to let your hair down (whether you’re a team of 5 or hundreds) and toast to the year gone by.

Even better, you can customise your corporate CTFOB experience (think a dedicated keg and team-building led by a brewer).

Pitch it to your boss: “Beers and enough distractions around for stories for years”. A basic corporate ticket costs R150 for standard entrance and 10 taster tokens.

Looking to include partners and/or kids? Sunday 1 December is marked as a relaxed family day with lots of activities for kids.

To book: For table booking Or mail for bookings, corporate details, or to tailor a package.

Voted one of the best new bars in the world by Condé Nast Traveler in 2012, Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar has been a favourite hang-out since 2011, and is as popular as ever. Killer cocktails, views and an inner-city vibe under wooden mansards in an old attic with an open rooftop area make this rooftop special. There’s also great indie and electronic music, moreish bar snacks and cool décor, like the red Japanese-shrine-inspired bar and the black and white Tokyo photo wall. One floor down is the moody, intimate Momiji Lounge, with sunken booths and a long, low couch. Sip on Japanese folklore-inspired cocktails, or something from the extensive wine or spirit list (including Japanese whiskies). Both Tjing Tjing Rooftop Bar and Momiji Lounge are ideal for small – but memorable – year-end functions.
Pitch it to your boss: There is no venue hire cost at Tjing Tjing House.
