Hiking through Cecilia forest, the art of origami, an evening market in Cape Peninsula
Last updated: Monday, 16 August 2022
Roadtrip to Piekenierskloof Pass for an epic tea pairing on Friday. Meet fellow hikers as you make your way through Cecilia Forest. Or learn how to make an origami butterfly by a Guinness World Record holder on Sunday. Here are 7 (and more) things to do this weekend (and in the weeks ahead).
Take a roadtrip to the Piekenierskloof Pass to visit De Tol Farm Deli - it’s one of the oldest farm stalls along the N7. Be adventurous and try the most unusual pairings… tea and gin or wine. Or opt for something less daring like tea and nougat, or chocolate truffles. There’s also a tea and nibbles pairing, plus kids can join in on the tasting fun at De Tol Farm Deli.
Date: Monday to Saturday, 8am - 5pm; Sunday, 8am - 3pm
Cost: R80 - R90

Make your way to Cecilia Forest and join the Salomon Hike Club for a 4-hour hike. The trail is intermediate level (so not a casual hike, some fitness is needed), where the group will explore Caveman's Overhang. Be prepared to do some bushwacking as the trail is a bit overgrown. Bring lots of water and snacks, and spend the day outdoors meeting new people (the group will meet at Cecilia Forest parking lot).
Date: Saturday, 20 August; meet at 7am
Cost: Free

Every Sunday you can join in a live art experience at Art Haus Gallery. Pop by and watch or book a slot and take part in the experience. Your butterfly may just form part of a beautifully finished artwork.
