Tan, sunbathe and chill on one of the four beaches of trendy Clifton
Clifton's beaches are amongst the most trendy beaches in Cape Town. Here life revolves around relaxing, tanning, sunbathing and seeing and being seen
Clifton's Blue Flag beaches are amongst the most trendy beaches in Cape Town. It is a place to see and be seen, sunbathe, surf and lazily gaze at the paragliders floating in the air. The fourth beach is the most popular amongst young people and Clifton Three is Cape Town's favourite gay-friendly beach.

Clifton is all about glamour and beautiful, young people. The sandy beaches - four in total - are divided by massive boulders, protecting beach lovers from the strong southeasterly wind.   

Clifton beach has been rated as one
of Top Ten Beaches by the satellite television network, Discovery Travel Channel, in 2003 and is famous for its stunning sunsets. Clifton is a very popular sundowner spot. On any summer evening, throngs of people make the pilgrimage down to the beach, armed with picnic baskets and a bottle of wine. As dusk sets in, the beach is decorated with rings of candle-light.

Activities on Clifton Beach: sunbathing, socialising, frisbeeing, watching paragliders, swimming and relaxing. And in season (September - December) you can spot whales from the beach.
