Kitesurfing, whale watching and sand castles on Bloubergstrand
Bloubergstrand on Table Bay, Cape Town, is a beach for all: families, children, the young, the old, the sporty and the sun lovers.
Blouberg beach, or Bloubergstrand has one of the best views of Cape Town and Table Mountain; a sight that is featured on countless postcards. Blouberg beach also boasts a terrific view of Robben Island (the former prison island where political prisoners were locked up during the Apartheid era).

This long stretch
of pearly white beach is a popular kitesurfing location and prime  windsurfing spot. if you are looking for one of the best kitesurfing locations in the world, Bloubergstrand is in the top three for sure. Blouberg also has some great angling spots and is favoured among sunbathers.

is also used for kite surfing schools such as Cabrinha Kitesurf school.

Between September and December you should pack you binoculars and head off to Blouberg beach to try and spot a Southern Right Whale. It is during this time of the year that these giants of the sea visit Table Bay on their way to Gansbaai & Hermanus to mate and calf.  

In other words, Blouberg has something to offer for everyone: Sporty types, sun seekers, the young and the old.
