Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens is world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of the Garden's setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

Kirstenbosch Garden grows only indigenous South African plants. The Kirstenbosch estate covers 528 hectares of nature and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest.

The cultivated Botanical Garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants. It was founded in 1913.

Up Table Mountain from Kistenbosch Gardens? Park your car at Table Mountain in the morning, arrange a rikki to Kirstenbosch and walk up via Skeleton Gorge or Nursery Ravine in Kirstenbosch. Once you are on Table Mountain, you can walk to the front of it via McLear's Beacon to the Cable Car Station.
