This Cape Town based Five Star PADI dive school offers 4-day PADI courses to teach you how to dive in South Africa. You can chose to either do the four days of the PADI Open Water course in one go or to spread the PADI course out over two weekends. It is up to you!
Doing a PADI diving course in Cape Town consists of a theory and a practical component of learning to dive in South Africa.
All this learning to dive theory is less boring than it sounds, as scuba diving is great! Especially in Cape Town: Sun, sea, and beautiful beaches, stunning scenery. What more do you want when you're learning to dive in this mother city?
During the first two days of your PADI diving course you will study the basic theory and you will be taught how to put this knowledge into practice at the dive school on the Cape Peninsula.
This all takes place at Diving school centre in Kommetjie. Here, in the swimming pool, you will make your first dives while using your diving knowledge, as for instance: How to communicate with your diving buddy under water? How do I stay horizontal? How do I handle the feeling of weightlessness? What to do when I have to sneeze of cough?
After two days in and around the swimming pool, one of the diving instructors of Scuba Shack takes you to the ocean for a series of four 'real' dives. In the ocean you will be given the opportunity to show what you can and what you know, and to practice until you are ready for your PADI Open water diving exam.
The PADI diving exam isn't difficult and it is the perfect excuse to celebrate your PADI Open water certificate with a cold beer and a braai. After passing you exam, it is time for the final step: taking pictures for you PADI pass. You have reached the finish!
