Imagine getting your nails done without an appointment? Sounds good? This would be normally impossible in Cape Town. But, at WOW!, Ways of Wellness, that’s just how it works. 'Just walk in and relax!' is their motto. The team at WOW! work on a non-appointment-basis in order to accommodate busy schedules.
On offer are the following treatments: fish therapy, manicure, pedicure, exclusive organic cosmetics, organic waxing, organic facials and organic teeth whitening (unique in South Africa). The clincher? It’s affordable and 100 percent organic.
Ludovic Berthelon and Dominique Coole, both from France, are the team behind the concept. The organic beauty salon is situated on the corner of Kloof Street and Weltevreden Street in Gardens, Cape Town, making it nice and central.
All products (from South Africa and France) used at WOW! are organic – this means, the products are for everybody, with the aim of incurring less allergic reactions.

WOW!’s method is a light accelerated teeth whitening system that uses the combination of a LED blue light (laser) and a 100% natural whitening gel to safely remove years of staining from your teeth.
Fish spa
Have you heard of the fish spa, also known as fish therapy or doctor fish? If you spent a holiday in Thailand, you might. You put both your feet in a fish tank of warm freshwater for 15-30 minutes and hundreds of garra rufa fish will gently nibble at your skin (they are indeed attracted to skin). The fish eat dead skin cells, but don’t worry, they also get food.
As a result your feet feel refreshed and healthy. This treatment has been very popular in Asia and is now spreading in the US and all around Europe. The fish tanks are connected to a filter where the bacteria is eliminated. In order to keep the water clean, for your health as well as for the fish, each patient will have a complete foot cleansing and disinfection prior to the fish therapy.
The interior of WOW! is fresh, minimalistic and eco-friendly. The welcome area is white and green with the fish tanks in sight. Several treatment rooms painted in a welcoming green invite you to spend some time here. The balcony overlooking Kloof Street is a great spot to relax after a treatment. You can even make use of the free Wi-Fi if you can’t relax completely. Being located so centrally in Cape Town, tourists enjoy the non-appointment concept. In the 50s, 103 Kloof Street was the hair-salon 'Rose on Kloof'; WOW! brings 103 Kloof Street back to the beauty business.
The feedback has been 'wow' many times; Capetonians and tourists appreciate the non-appointment policy. Some girls spend their bachelorette-party here getting their nails done while sipping on cocktails. Dominique and Ludovic do their best to make anything happen.
