Teenage pin-up and pop star Justin Bieber posted via Twitter on 3 July 2012 that a South African concert would be included in his upcoming Believe Tour. 

“Oh yeah...and just agreed to routing for EUROPE, RUSSIA, MIDDLE EAST, ASIA, AUSTRALIA and NZ, South America, and S AFRICA BELIEVE TOUR dates,” he chirped. 

But before you crash the Computicket server and storm the nearest Shoprite ticket counter, take heed, official confirmation that the Canadian-born sensation will actually play in concert in Cape Town, Johannesburg or Durban is yet to be released. 

Big Concerts, the events company responsible for luring Lady Gaga to Mzansi, and the organisation most likely to wrangle the teenage heart throb Bieber to play to audiences in the rainbow nation, has yet to solidify a deal, nor have they released concert dates. 

Furthermore, similar rumours swirled in 2010, when in fact, the PYT (pretty young thing) merely touched down in SA for a bit of rest and relaxation. 

All said though, we hope that it’s work, not play that brings the 18-year-old megastar to Western Cape shores.
