Off beautiful Cape Town, the warm Agulhas and cold Benguela currents collide at the meeting point of the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans. Faced with contrasting extremes of wind, waves and warmth, the species that live here hold ingenious secrets of survival.

Strandlopers were San and Khoi-Khoi people - the first inhabitants of our 3,000 km coastline and the first to discover this treasure. They lived off the bounty of the sea, fishing and harvesting linefish, abalone, mussels and rock lobsters.
