Davy Dragon Teaches Kids about Space at the Iziko Museum Planetarium
A fantastic chance for kids aged 5-10 to visit the Planetarium in Cape Town and learn about the wonders of space
Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s Davy Dragon, the Planetarium’s famous space explorer!
Davy Dragon has become something of a space celebrity since its creator, Margie Walter, won first prize in a 1997 International Planetarium Society scriptwriting competition.
Apart from his shows about his exploits in space, Davy also features regularly in a children’s local newspaper, imparting dazzling bits of information about our solar system.
In his new show, aimed specifically at stargazers between 5 and 10 years of age, Davy introduces youngsters to the wonders of space in an enjoyable and effortless way.
Since Davy is determined not only to become the world’s most sky-wise dragon but also to share his knowledge with friends, he invites all 5-10-year-olds to join him in his quest for facts and fun!
Davy the Dragon’s show at the Planetarium in Cape Town will answer questions that children have often wondered about, like – why is there day and night; how do the stars and planets stay up in the sky; is the earth flat? - and many more.
