Turn the Tables on Hunger this Mandela Day

This is your chance to help feed 450 000 children for a year

What if 67 minutes of your time could mean staving off hunger for 450 000 children for as long as a year? Would you get involved?

On Wednesday, 13 July 2016 at GrandWest Casino, Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa and the GrandWest Casino will be partnering up to pack 450 000 meals to benefit little ones at Early Childhood Development centres across Southern Africa.

Going the extra mile to celebrate Mandela Day, the casino’s market hall will transform as packing production lines take over, with 600 volunteers arranged into 150 teams working four shifts, with the aim of packing 12 500 meal boxes with 36 meal bags in each one. The same exercise will be undertaken at four other Sun International establishments, namely Sun City, The Boardwalk, Carnival City and Sibaya.

REGISTER TO TURN THE TABLES ON HUNGER THIS MANDELA DAY

It’s R500p/p for individuals wishing to register and R10 000 for corporate teams of 20 people. All the money raised will go towards buying the dry ingredients and to cover packing costs. There will be four two-hour packing sessions on the day (with a fifth one if necessary), and all the meals will be stored at the Stop Hunger Now warehouse to be distributed over the next year.
