When witches go riding and black cats are seen, head to this party for Halloween

This fantastical psytrance affair is the ideal way to welcome Hallow’s Eve, with plenty of beats and treats to keep witches and wizards grooving. Spanning two days – Saturday, 31 October and Sunday, 1 November 2015 – the trance dance jol is taking over Flenterskloof Farm (near Klapmuts), for a weekend of sick sound sorcery.

With a dress code and theme of ‘Come as You Aren’t’ (to be interpreted at your discretion), the jam promises much in the way of music and entertainment, with a superb local line-up, designated dance zones, a swimming dam, and green fields that double up as stomping grounds. Acts on the bill this year include psytrance legend Headroom, not to mention Paralocks, Broken Toy and Disco Volante.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE 2015 TRANSYLVANIA HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

FACILITIES:  Even ghouls need proper bathroom facilities, and luckily, Transylvania promises clean toilets, along with security and medical assistance. The venue also boasts camping facilities, chill areas, a shaded dance floor, swimming dam, food stalls, fully licenced bar and an array of craft and clothing stalls.

OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES: The fun begins on Saturday, 31 October 2015 at 1pm, and ends on Sunday, 1 November at 5pm.

AGE RESRICTIONS AND RESTRICTED ITEMS: No little devils under the age of 18 will be allowed in, and IDs will be checked. You can bring your own booze, but not your pet werewolf. No pets are allowed, along with illegal substances, fires, fireworks, independent sound systems or weapons.

BE KIND TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND CARPOOL:  Save the world one carpool at a time! Parking at the venue is limited, so help to reduce traffic (and carbon emissions) by grabbing a ride with your mates. There’ll be different levies charged according to the number of people per car – one person = R50, two people = R40, three people = R20, and four people = no levy. There’s also a bus service leaving from Cape Town and Stellenbosch – contact the organisers for more information about this option.

Early bird tickets cost R260p/p. After these expire/ are sold out, full festival tickets will cost R310p/p; while a Sunday pass is R200p/p. Tickets are available online via Quicket.co.za.
