If you love a little bit of dress-up and themed dinners then you need to attend The Sunflower Fund Gala Dinner on Thursday, 3 November 2016. This Cuban-themed gourmet feast will take place at Shimmy Beach Club and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Sunflower Fund in aid of stem cell research and finding suitable donors of bone marrow.
The Sunflower Fund has grown its list of stem cell donors from 1200 to 72 000 potential contributors from a large demographic. You can lend a helping hand by tucking into a smorgasbord of Latino treats and eats and indulge in a variety of Spanish-inspired activities at this themed dinner. The colourful and vibrant affair will mimic the lively streets of Havana.
For the past 14 years, The Sunflower Fund has hosted incredibly successful fundraising events, and this year will be no different. On average, they manage to raise around R400 000 from these events and every cent helps for the thousands of South Africans diagnosed with blood diseases such as leukaemia every year.
The Cuban Gala dinner will be a tribute to the resilience and positivity of the patients who have overcome illness, as well as to the dedication and hard work of the researchers, doctors and NGOs who fight dreaded diseases. So celebrate life in the most effervescent way, with a kaleidoscope of Cuban-themed colour and a fancy feast alongside family and friends.
TICKETS TO THE 2016 THE SUNFLOWER FUND GALA DINNER AT SHIMMY BEACH CLUB
Tickets to the gala dinner are available online via Shimmy.nutickets.co.za and will cost R682p/p. The dinner starts at 6:30pm.
