If post- Afrikaburn desert withdrawals are getting you down and you’re dreaming of that beautiful, free and nomadic place where love rules and people sing, dance and ride bicycles decorated with daisies all day, then this should help to appease the burning-man-shaped hole in your heart. If you’re a regular ‘burner you’ll definitely remember the Steampunk Saloon that lit up the Karoo this year with spectacular music, gorgeous performers and whimsical décor? Yes? Then you’ll be excited to know that Steampunk Saloon is having its first ever Cape Town session on Sunday, 5 July 2015 at the Local Grill in Woodstock.
With the same sci-fi, fantasy and industrial aesthetic, coupled with some major musical names, the show promises to be one to remember. All your favourite Steampunk DJs will be on hand, including bass and brass lover Dear Mrs Panda, the feisty and fabulous Delicious Monster and the quirky and quick RedFox. They’ll be joined by the famed and fabulous Steampunk performers ‘in various states of undress.’
The list of lovely burlesque performers includes:
The money raised from the show will go towards funding the Steampunk Saloon’s appearance at Afrikaburn 2016, to which they plan to bring more magical music and terrible whiskey to delight fellow Tankwa citizens.
