The Spirit Train AfterBURN Replay Party

Relive the glory and freedom of AfrikaBurn in the heart of the Mother City

After attending AfrikaBurn, most of the revellers are left with a sense of longing to return to that magical desert wonderland, void of trouble and life's problems. To counteract this emptiness in your soul, and to get a small taste of that burn once again, you need to book your tickets to this spiritual shakedown in the city's Foreshore. The Spirit Train AfterBURN Replay party kicks off in the Mother City at the Zip Zap Circus on Saturday, 6 May 2017, and you can expect thunderous sound, flashing lights, and a Burn-worthy spectacle to behold.

This 14-hour sound and visual fest starts at 2pm, and has six international DJs on the line-up, supported by two local artists. Not only is this magical shindig a throwback to a time when you roamed the desert in awe, but it also serves as a fundraising project to ensure The Spirit Train's beloved Lobo returns to AfrikaBurn in 2018 for the fourth time. Thanks to the dedicated crew of artisans, blacksmiths, creatives and architects, this mutant vehicle (part wolf, part machine and complete art project) rises from the ashes of AfrikaBurn to dispense thumping music, fire, smoke, bubbles and of course, those addictive Burn vibes.

This year, The Spirit Train crew will work with the Hauptbahnof team from Germany to bring a brand new 360-degree visual spectacle to AfrikaBurn. To stick with Burn tradition, the whole architectural structure will be set alight on the final Sunday evening, leaving nothing but ashes from which a new beast will be born for 2018's festival. If you miss this year’s week-long festival in the Tankwa Karoo, or if you’re looking for a second hit of the freedom, then this replay party will be a winning combination of musical talent, artistic wonderment and all-round positive energy.

The Spirit Train team has left nothing to chance in the planning of this AfterBURN jol. Guests will, no doubt, work up a hunger from all the merrymaking so tuck into some tasty treats at one of the gourmet food trucks on-site. There will also be a fully-stocked bar and beer garden with Mitchell's Craft Beer on tap, and creamy coffees to give weary attendees an extra kick. Grab your tickets now and replay the experience of AfrikaBurn 2017.
