Experience an immersive sensory journey into the depths of the earth
All you gaming, anime and cosplay enthusiasts out there, listen up! The T-fest Gaming and Cosplay Convention is back for another fun-filled event to bring you endless socialising and gaming opportunities (and even some retail therapy) on Saturday, 29 November 2014 at Trenchtown in Observatory.
After a super successful launch in August, this monthly fandango returns with free-to-enter gaming tourneys, a market, a best dressed competition, movie screenings and so much more. Note that all equipment required for the gaming will be provided – so you simply need to show up and get playing!
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE T-FEST GAMING AND COSPLAY CONVENTION
FREE-ENTRY TOURNAMENTS: Gamers can look forward to playing some of their favourite games and testing out the new console while they’re at it. This month’s event will host The Shhoter competition where visitors can battle it out playing Halo 2 and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare to determine the Ultimate Shooter. The Gunstringer, Forza, Sunset Overdrive and Kinect Star Wars contests will run throughout the day and cool prizes, like cold hard cash and awesome vouchers, will be up for grabs for participants.
OTHER CHALLENGES: There will also be a number of demo and free-to-play titles to check out, and game stations will be set up for those who’d like to ‘try before they buy’. Participants can look forward to trying out October releases like Titanfall and Destiny. Also, if you are in the market to pick up a few new games after testing them out, the organisers will have a few tablets available on the day to place your order post-haste. There will also be an area for card- and board games, so attendees are encouraged to bring their decks and paraphernalia along to the event.
RAFFLES: Starting on the day until the end of the convention, there will be raffle going on to help with the running costs of this event. As T-Fest is free to all, this is the closest that organisers have come to charging for any aspect of the alternative affair and support is optional but welcomed. Raffle entry will cost R10p/p and those entering can win prizes worth around R750!
FOOD AND DRINKS: The event will also have plenty of yummy food and drink options on offer; although, note that no food bought outside the venue may be consumed on the premises. That being said, Trenchtown is offering all T-fest-goers a margherita pizza for only R30; alcohol will also be served on the day.
COSPLAY: In light of the Shooter Day theme, cosplayers are encouraged to don their best threads, and enter T-Fest‘s best dressed competition. Come dressed as your favourite shooter from any gametitle, and you could win some awesome prizes.
FOR THE KIDDIES: Photography and crafting company Rebel Monkey will be holding a colouring-in competition, and there will also be face and nail painting to amuse the young tykes – or even the adults!
