If you’re part of the cult that loves the Superdry brand but hates the super dry feeling in your wallet after you’ve purchased one of the rather expensive T-shirts, pairs of jeans or more, listen up. We’ve teamed up with Labels4Less outlet on Kloof Street in Cape Town to offer our readers an extra R50 off already marked-down garments and accessories from the famous British clothing line. Simply visit the shop and mention CapeTownMagazine.com to the shop assistant to qualify for the discount.
And as the charming bargain boutique sells a wide variety of the UK streetwear label’s unisex, faux sporty, Japanese-infused prêt-à-porter at 30- to 40% less than the typical rack rates, even without the special, you’re already scoring tops, bags and more for a steal. For instance, T-shirts that usually go for between R700 and R800 at the V&A Waterfront are just R499.
The work of owner Francis Massa, a Frenchman who’s been in the retail game for over 20 years, Labels4Less has made somewhat of a name for itself selling high-end European brands at bottom-floor rates. Though keep in mind, as the shop specialises in upmarket threads, you shouldn’t expect to bring your pocket change and come away with designer denim.
Apart from shelves stocked with Superdry, the store also finds space for Replay swimwear, Bensimon takkies, Magents T-shirts, Scotch & Soda button-ups and Diesel jeans in a seemingly endless range of shapes, washes and sizes. And rumour has it, if you ask very nicely, the extra R50-off special will extend to these brand names too (wink, wink).
No matter what label suits your style though, one point that’s consistent throughout is the shop’s commitment to quality. All of the goods are 100% authentic. Meaning, don’t expect knock-offs, flawed pieces, rejects and the like.
Similarly, don’t get any ideas about the typical penny pincher’s paradise: a dimly lit basement, disorganised racks of clothing and garments with that sifted-through look and feel. Labels4Less is a clean, contemporary space perched in the upstairs section of a Victorian house in Gardens. The shopping experience feels somewhat exclusive and is certainly private – there’s none of that bargain basement or mall madness to contend with.
Needless to say, if you’re on the hunt for a great deal on designer goods, there’s no better place to visit.
