For most people, Sundays are synonymous with great big feasts and quality family time, and at CinCin Restaurant this tradition springs to life with the weekly lunch buffet served in the opulent dining area.

Housed within the Colosseum Hotel in Century City, the eatery – its name is pronounced like the Italian word for cheers – features all the trappings of a fine dining experience, with crisp white linen covering the tables, a glittery, glorious Swarovski crystal chandelier providing a starry centrepiece from the ceiling, quality food and a waitstaff that is especially attentive and friendly. Yet somehow, CinCin also manages to create a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere within its luxurious walls just perfect for clans both big and small on the hunt for somewhere to celebrate spending another lazy Sunday together.

The help-yourself spread includes a variety of all the goodies that one would expect from an end-of-the-week big eat, starting with a serious array of homemade breads served with a choice of pesto and pâtés and a selection of greens and fresh vegetables at the create-your-own salad station. At the hot carvery, diners can pile their plates with succulent roast meats, curry or stew and some excellent sides, including savoury rice and roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Then, to finish off, there’s the chef’s medley of mouth-watering deserts, which varies from week to week.

In fact, the menu at CinCin’s Sunday buffet changes from lunch to lunch, so if you do find yourself jonesing for a fix two weekends in a row, you’ll find something different each time. What is constant, though, is the festive family atmosphere and the enjoyment that the young and the old seem to get from breaking bread together in this Northern Suburbs gem.
