Omri Hadari is back in Cape Town to join the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra as they perform Beethoven’s choral symphony alongside the New Apostolic Church Choir. Witness this splendid performance at the Spring Symphony Concert at Cape Town City Hall on Thursday, 17 November 2016.
Israeli conductor Omri Hadari is returning to South Africa to lead the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125. Hadari was the music director for the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and worked with the KwaZulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra for 22 years before returning to Israel.
The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by the New Apostolic Church Choir with soloists Siphamandla Yakupa (soprano), Elizabeth Frandsen (mezzo), Lukhanyo Moyake (tenor) and Mandla Mndebele (baritone) at the forefront.
This concert forms part of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s Spring Symphony Season, which will showcase performances by the orchestra and world-renown conductors from Thursday, 10 November to Friday, 2 December 2016. The orchestra is working alongside the South African Society of Psychiatrists to perform works of music with the theme of “triumph over adversity”.
