Do you want to party but hate being in noisy places? Then you’ll love the Silent Disco. Swing down to the Octopus Garden in St James on Saturday, 3 September 2016 and have a personal party at this quirky disco.
We know what you’re thinking – how can a disco be silent? Here’s how it works: there are three DJs performing at the party at the same time. Each disco-goer is given a set of headphones with three channels that are playing each of the DJs’ music, so you can choose the music that suites your mood. That means you could be rocking out to your favourite bands while your friends next to you are jamming to some 80’s pop hits. Once you take the headphones off, you won’t hear the music anymore (hence the name Silent Disco) but you will get to see people dancing their faces off in a quiet garden.
Since this disco is taking place at the beginning of spring, patrons are invited to dress up in their most floral clothes. Don a flowery frock, leafy leotard or your dad’s favourite Hawaiian shirt and you’ll get R20 off your admission fee. Octopus Garden is cutting their drinks prices for the night and you can get craft beer for only R25 and a double vodka with Bos iced tea for R30.
Furthermore, you could win a dinner for four worth R800 including a bottle of wine, a pair of headphones for you and two friends OR two pizzas and beers to share with your mates. Check the Octopus Garden Silent Events Facebook page (OctopusGardenSilentEvents) for details on how to enter.
ENTRY TO THE 2016 SPRING SILENT DISCO AT OCTOPUS GARDEN IN ST JAMES
Tickets can be purchased at the door and are priced at R60p/p for students (with ID) and anyone who has dressed up to the spring theme and R80p/p for general admission. Please make sure to bring your ID along as they are needed for the deposit on the headphones.
