Saturday Pool Party at Shimmy Beach Club

Savour a splashing good time every summer weekend with smooth beats by star DJs at this lavish seaside spot

No summer is complete without a decent party (or five) and Shimmy Beach Club is bringing the heat to Cape Town’s nightlife. Eager partygoers can get down to the Pool Party on Saturday, 12 December 2015.

The pool parties form part of a weekly Saturday event that kicks off the summer season (use #ShimmySummer to tag your Instagram posts) that starts at 3pm. The line-up of DJs  include international to local acts and are set to get bodies moving. This season will also see the launch of the new summer menu and guests can feast on the delights while sippin’ on refreshing cocktails. 

Unlike the lifestyle destination’s slightly smarter Friday night jols, the Saturday affairs champion toned-down, informal revelry, with bikinis, board shorts and bare feet being the order of the day. Guests are encouraged to laze on sun loungers on the expansive deck that sidles up to an azure infinity pool or to dig their toes into the sand that surrounds the club’s other glass watering hole, all the while enjoying breath-taking views of the Atlantic.

Between the beats, there’s also entertainment and pool partiers can supplement the sounds with sushi, oysters, dim sum and other snacks off the pool deck menu or a cocktail or three from one of the club’s chic bars (Ciroc vodka is on promotion on Saturday afternoons).

The bash starts at 3pm, but guests are welcome to linger on into the late evening, stretching out the daytime festivities into sundowners and dinner alongside Shimmy’s little personal stretch of sea.
