It’s time to drink wine, make merry and celebrate romance in the scenic surrounds of Franschhoek’s esteemed Rickety Bridge estate. The pretty spot will be celebrating all things pink and rosy with the Revving Up Rosé festival, taking place on Saturday, 13 February 2016.
It’s time to stop and smell the rosé with exclusive wine tastings, vino-inspired food stalls, pre-booked picnics and a host of sporting activities to boot. The fabulous Franschhoek farm is pulling out all the corks, and has a day filled with fun and festivities planned for eager attendees:

A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME… WOULD NOT TASTE AS SWEET
This is the ideal opportunity to take the time to appreciate an often under-rated wine. A selection of some of the Cape’s top rosé producers will be on hand to show off the versatility of the varietal, and there’ll also be a smorgasbord of special cocktails and bubbles available. The vivacious vintage is thought to be the oldest in the world and hails from the lavender-growing Provence in France.
Inferior, overly-sweet examples have given rosé a sad reputation, but the blushing booze is making a global comeback, with its complexity, diversity and bewitching hue finally being properly appreciated. Marrying the crispness of white wine with the fruity flair of red, the vintage is earning multiple accolades, and has a new found fan group in the form of the Brosé boys – men who aren’t afraid of a stellar pink drink!
