Become an entrepreneur for a day and open up a stall at the official Pop-Up Sustainable Development Market at Tyisa Nabanye. The Second Hand group invites you to sell home-made products and second-hand clothes at this one-day only market on Sunday, 26 June 2016. Email Laurarnbrd@gmail.com to book a stall now!
The Second Hand group on Facebook is known for being a platform where people in Cape Town show off their old threads and sell them privately at affordable prices. But organising meet-ups to actually get the clothes can be a pain, especially for people who aren’t willing to drive all the way across the city to buy an old pair of pants. Well, the group has come up with a solution: a monthly pop-up market where Capetonians can get rid of their old goods or pick up some new stuff.
The Sustainable Development Market is all about healthy living and going green – if you’re looking to sell homegrown fruits and vegetables or products made from recyclable materials, this is the perfect place for you. Sustainable living is a huge movement that encourages people to grow their own food, limit their contribution to waste and reduce, reuse and recycle. If you know a thing or two about sustainable living and want to sell merchandise that helps us live greener lives, we encourage you to bring your wares to the market and make a few extra bucks while saving the planet.
ENTRY TO THE 2016 POP-UP SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT MARKET AT TYISA NABANYE
If you’re interested in visiting the market, head down to Tyisa Nabanye at 10am to see what it’s all about. Tyisa Nabanye is an urban agriculture organisation based in Signal Hill that brings sustainable living into the city and promotes a healthy, environmentally-friendly lifestyle.
Entrance to the market is FREE so you’ll be able to spend even more money supporting the locals. If you’re there to sell, it costs R120 to book a stall for the day. Send a message to the Second Hand page to book your stall or email Laurarnbrd@gmail.com and send her the details of what you’d like to sell.
