Pop-up Cinema Movie Nights in Cape Town

Grab your cinephile friends and hit the movies this winter!

Winter is wonderful because it means you can cosy up with someone special and relax without feeling guilty about not taking advantage of the sensational weather we get in summer. With winter comes an assortment of sublime hibernation activities, including cuddling up in front of a movie and eating endless amounts of crispy-crunchy popcorn.

The latest to join the winter movie club is the Pop-Up Cinema company, which will be broadcasting a curated selection of short films at the Woodstock Eatery every Tuesday, and at the Blue Bird Garage Market every Thursday, until Thursday, 23 June 2016. Guests will be treated to movies, live music and a lovely selection of like-minded cinephiles to meet and enjoy the experience with.

Described as ‘a cinema for the people, made possible by the people,’ the different events are divided into seasons, each of which will have a different theme and special guest host. The idea is for the sessions to connect and inspire emerging talent, so if you’re a producer, entrepreneur, artist, musician or anyone else with a gift to share, rent one of the pop-up shop spaces and promote your offerings in a fun and exciting environment.

Everyone knows that a good movie requires plenty of things to munch on, but luckily the Woodstock Eatery and Blue Bird Garage Market has guests covered with a selection of food vendors on hand, along with a beverage stand. Remember to bring plenty of cash for treats and eats, although some SnapScan facilities will be available.
