Get your cycling gear on and start mentally prepping for the tough race ahead. The Pedal Power Association (PPA) Tiletoria Elgin Valley MTB race is back with a bigger and better event on Sunday, 13 September 2015 at the Paul Cluver Estate in Grabouw.
This year, the event sees an all-new 52km route that will test your physical abilities in the climb and decent of Groenlandberg. This route is only open to 250 experienced cyclists with a current PPA seeding of MA-MC.
Otherwise the usual 47km route remains in place, and will be used as seeding for the 2015 Wines2Whales event. This route is still not for the faint-of-heart as it includes a total of 900m of elevation on a picturesque but tricky singletrack.
The easier 32km route is best suited to intermediate riders, with a total elevation of 600m. It makes use of several of the stunning singletrack sections of the 47km trail. If this is still a bit too daunting then the 11km route is non-technical and ideal for beginners, children and casual riders. This route will not be timed so there will be no pressure to rush. The 11km course is also great for trail runners wishing to witness the scenery on foot rather than by bike.
