Gabriëlskloof’s Favourite Things Market

Shop until you drop at this festive market celebrating fresh, beautiful and delicious things

Back for its seventh instalment, the Gabriëlskloof Favourite Things Market is known for being a gorgeous, creative affair boasting the best in homemade, handcrafted goodies and food. Find all your favourite things at this year’s festive market, happening from Friday, 16 December to Sunday, 18 December 2016 at the prestigious olive and wine estate in the Overberg.

This is the perfect opportunity to find those special last minute Christmas gifts while socialising with friends and family at the jolly affair. Peruse the top class selection of artisanal stalls with a glass of the estate’s quality wine in hand, or taste some delicious and freshly prepared fare such as oysters, cheeses, burgers, bakes and handmade chocolates.

The popular pre-Christmas market will transform the estate’s lush lawns into a vibrant and buzzing market filled with good cheer and excitement. Find unique and thoughtful gifts for your loved ones like alpaca wool products, designer jewellery, bespoke fashion accessories and stylish clothing. Discover handmade quilts and detailed ceramics to spice up your home décor, or get the kids some crafty toys for their stockings.

What market is complete without a bit of live entertainment? Guests can look forward to the energetic melodies of the Gypsy Jazz trio on the Friday night, or the more sombre, soothing sounds of the French accordion on the Saturday and Sunday. Due to the popularity of the market, you can now pre-book tables for six or more people for the opening night.

“The Gabriëlskloof Favourite Things Market has become a fixture on the calendar of many families and people who enjoy a refined, pleasant and relaxed occasion in a beautiful location,” says market organiser Nicolene Finlayson. “We’re excited to welcome back our regulars, many of whom have become friends; and, to introduce newcomers to something special.”
