Nomadiq Rooftop of Dreams Party

One of Cape Town’s most decadent deep house series returns for another awesome round of jolling at a new oceanfront location

There’s nothing more magical than Cape Town in the summertime: the sparkling blue-green sea, the golden after-eight sunsets and the vibey outdoor electro parties that make it possible to enjoy both with a drink in hand and a poppin’ dance floor under foot.

If you like where we’re going with this, then you won’t want to miss the return of the Nomadiq Rooftop of Dreams series on Saturday, 28 March 2015. The on-top-of-the-world get-together has two sell-out seasons behind it, and now it’s back to see summer out with its signature dose of deep house in an all new location at the Lagoon Beach Hotel.

According to the organisers at Nomadiq, which is a music and events record label founded by three tune-loving DJs passionate about platforming local talent and positioning the city at the forefront of the hip and happening deep house soundscape, the oceanfront Milnerton venue is bigger and better than the previous host. Not to mention, there’s a spacious swimming pool (bring your costume!) and a postcard-perfect view of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and the shimmering Atlantic that will very possibly make even long-time Mother City residents weak in the knees.

Otherwise, jollers can get amped for the same awesome elements that have come to define this jam over the years. In short, each party features an other-worldly line-up of Cape Town’s decked-out DJs; plus, on occasion an international spinner makes an appearance to crank things up a few notches and send sick grooves all the way up to Devil’s Peak and beyond.

Expect to spot all kinds of cool kids, from hippies to hotties and lifelong Capetonians to European electronic music-mad travellers; the jol attracts pretty much anyone who loves a good deep house get-down in an extraordinary setting.

So while it’s perfectly acceptable to attend just one of these day-to-night sessions, it’s more likely that the music and madness will move you to revisit the Rooftop of Dreams over and over again (subscribe to our newsletter for future party dates).

The rooftop at the Lagoon Beach Hotel is equipped with a well-stocked bar, restaurant service, a swimming pool and ample room for moving and grooving, making it a prime location to get down while feeling on top of the world.

  The dudes at Nomadiq pride themselves on producing and promoting South Africa’s talented musicians (in various genres), and you’re guaranteed to find only the finest house music mixers on the party line-up. TICKETS FOR NOMADIQ ROOFTOP OF DREAMS PARTY SERIES (28 MARCH)

Tickets cost between R180p/p and R220p/p (excluding booking fee) and are available online via Residentadvisor.net. Limited tickets will be available at the door on the day for R250p/p. 

The party starts at noon and runs until 11pm, at which point the jam moves to Nomadiq’s home base, ColorBox Studios in Paarden Eiland. If you have a Rooftop of Dreams wristband, you get in for R50p/p, and if you don’t, entry is R100p/p.

Tip: There is lots of parking just outside of the Lagoon Beach Hotel, and there is also a MyCiTi stop nearby.
