You might be wondering: what possible attractions could a mushroom-related weekend away hold for me? Well, it turns out Boschendal has got a lot to offer. Start the weekend off with a tour around the estate led by the mushroom master himself, Justin Williams. After learning more about the beautiful Boschendal grounds, enjoy a fantastic (and no doubt mushroom-based) dinner at the Werf Restaurant, skilfully prepared by Chef Christiaan Campbell and his team of expert cooks.

The fun doesn’t end there, folks! Once you’ve filled up on a delicious breakfast, join Justin for the weekend’s main event: a journey into the forest to discover the magical and elusive Porcini mushroom. Don’t forget to bring your thinking cap with you because you’ll be learning everything there is to know about fungi this weekend. Justin will be sharing his unrivalled knowledge of mushrooms, their properties and how to identify which ones are edible and which are poisonous. Once you’ve picked enough mushrooms, it’s time to go back to the estate to prepare lunch using your selection for the day.

Check in at the Manor House is at 2pm on Saturday, 25 June. The cost of a weekend package is R1950p/p single and only R1750p/p sharing, so why not save some money and bring someone along with you?
