Monstera Deliciosa – a Porky Hefer Exhibition

Porky Hefer’s solo exhibition features his collection of larger-than-life hanging seats

If you have ever sat in the swinging chairs in the Company’s Garden in the city centre then you have interacted with the work of Porky Hefer. Now the designer is having a solo exhibition, titled Monstera Deliciosa Volume I, at the Southern Guild Gallery from Friday, 20 November 2015 until Friday, 5 February 2016.

The exhibition comprises his collection of huge animal-inspired hanging seats. Porky pushes the boundaries of art, design and contemporary furniture with these ultra-funky pieces, taking the viewer on a journey into an imaginary underwater world with his artworks. He uses a variety of materials in this collection, from genuine leather and wool, to metal and wood, to create truly unique chairs.

Please note that although the hanging seats may look incredibly comfortable and inviting, they are intended for sale after the exhibition so please do not sit in them.
