Glenelly Estate lies in the Idas Valley, en route from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek on the beginning of the Helshoogte Pass. The vineyards are a heritage site which is revered in Glenelly's holistic approach. The architecture of the main cellar building allows a tiered workflow where the use of gravity in the working warehouse helps to reduce energy consumption – a veritable waterfall of wine.
Get to know Glenelly via their delicious platters
Glenelly’s meat and cheese platters comprise a selection of three meats and three cheeses. The meats are sourced from Hartlief: Smoked Beef, Namibian Salami and Black Forest Ham. Cheeses come from Fairview and include Chevin garlic and parsley, Roydon Camembert and Blue Tower. Two types of olives are used from the Olive Boutique and water crackers are served with the platters.
Glenelly serves the cold meat and cheese platters on Friday and Saturdays and you get a glass of wine with it. The platters cost just R65 and are a great way of getting to know this special wine estate while relaxing in an amazing setting.
