La Paris Festival in the Valley

The successful family-friendly fiesta is bigger and better this year with an array of awesome activities.

Catch a star-studded live music line-up as well as an impressive assortment of market stalls (ideal for your Christmas shopping) and family entertainment at this annual event.

Following the resounding success of last year’s affair, La Paris Estate will host the second Festival in the Valley from Friday, 27 November to Sunday, 29 November 2015 on its lush lawns surrounded by towering mountain peaks.

Apart from being able to sip and sample some the region’s award-winning wines, there will be multifarious kid-friendly activities on offer to ensure your little tyke is safe and happy while you peruse the market and festive food stalls.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2015 LA PARIS FESTIVAL IN THE VALLEY

WINE, WINE & MORE WINE: Each of the numerous wineries at the festival will have its own price per tasting so come prepared to sample a selection of South Africa’s premium wines. Each attendee over the age of 18 can get a tasting glass (for a refundable R20p/p on return) that ensures that no drop is spilt (for that would be a tragedy!). Those who are not too keen on the superlative vinos can indulge in other ice-cold beverages such as delicious cocktails and craft beers.

DELICIOUS DELIGHTS: After all that wine, hungry tummies need to be fed! Attendees will have a variety of tasty goods to choose from while sitting outdoors and admiring the view.  Grab a bite of the South African, Mediterranean, Asian and French cuisine on offer, or try the food trucks serving up delectable street nosh on the go. If dessert is necessary, opt for a tasty ice cream and feel like a kid again!

RETAIL THERAPY: This year’s festival will have a daily market with high end gifts, fashion accessories and beauty products for you to peruse. Be sure to visit the pop-up day spa for a spot of spontaneous pampering. An outdoor expo will also be showing the latest innovations and necessities for a lavish outdoor lifestyle. Even if you don’t spend money, you can enjoy a bit of window shopping at the daily fashion show in the rose garden.

KIDS’ ACTIVITIES: Often little ones are energetic and need plenty of activity to keep them occupied. Parents can take their little ones to the kiddies’ area where they can release some energy on the jumping castle, slip and dip down the water slide, or enjoy an outdoor evening movie. What’s more, Saturday, 28 November and Sunday, 29 November will feature the Lollos show at 11am on both days.

LIVE MUSIC: What’s a festival without some tunes? While you sip on reds and whites, there will be local musicians, such as Gareth James, Jacques Terre’Blanche, Caitlin de Ville and Wild Lettuce, showing off their latest tracks in three separate concerts over the weekend. On Friday, 27 November there will be a Kurt Darren Concert at 6:30pm. Then on Saturday, 28 November, guests can sit back and enjoy the beats from Beatenberg, Matthew Mole, Jimmy Nevis and aKing at the Big Field Summer Concert at 3pm.

OTHER ENTERTAINMENT: Fire dancers and stilt walkers will dazzle the crowd with their mystical movements and daring displays. There will be no lack of entertainment around these parts, regardless of your age.
