Indulge in a soulful symphony on Friday, 7 October 2016, when the Jugend Sinfonie Orchester (JSO) from Switzerland take to the stage at the German International School in Cape Town. This youth orchestra will play alongside the Deutsche Internationale Schule Kapstadt (DSK) Marimba Band and the DSK Orchestra, in a goose bump-inducing showcase of melodic harmonies and chords.
The JSO have been wowing audiences since 2013, and has grown to 50 talented young members under the professional direction of Simon Reich. The live concert even sees old pupils of the DSK return to the Mother City to perform with the JSO at their alma mater, such as violinist Melanie Hauser who matriculated in 2011.
The orchestra has a vast repertoire, and guests can expect to listen to a variety of pieces from the baroque, classic and romantic eras of music, as well as works from your favourite musicals, popular movies and hit songs. If the sweet sounds are not enough to entice you, then know that the proceeds from the event will be donated to Cape Town Kids and the Swiss Club Cape Town. Food and drinks will be sold at the concert, and each guest will receive a complimentary glass of wine, courtesy of the Swiss Consulate.
TICKETS TO THE 2016 JSO SWISS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERT
Tickets to the concert are available online via Quicket.co.za and will cost R125p/p for adults and R55p/p for students. The symphony will begin at 7pm.
