Horses for Causes Charity Race Day at Kenilworth Racecourse

Thundering hooves, live grooves, family fun and good causes abound at this horsey happening

For the second year running Horses for Causes Charity Race Day will get off to a galloping good start at the prestigious Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday, 11 February 2017. It’s set to be a fun family day jam-packed with adrenaline-inducing activities and plenty of important community upliftment opportunities. Best of all? Entry is free!

Aside from thundering hooves and jovial jockeys, there’ll also be a marquee set up on the day, featuring the 14 charities benefitting from the event. Attendees will have the chance to chat to the NGOs to learn about what they do and to donate to them directly. This special day is all about bringing the community together so there’ll be plenty of live entertainment, including local choirs, bands, mini cricket, soccer and rugby games, fun races, food, beverages and more. The Vineyard Oval Market is happening on the same day, so make sure you come hungry because good nosh is their speciality!

Guests are invited to book a VIP table to make a positive change whilst enjoying delectable cuisine and a first-rate view of the course. A 10-seater table in the Kenilworth and Somerset VIP Function Rooms costs R7000 per table and includes a three-course buffet, whilst a 10-seater table in the stylish Peninsula VIP Function Room is R8500 per table, which includes the buffet and a view of the home straight. A charity auction of jewellery, holidays, sporting memorabilia and other surprises will be a splendid addition to the VIP experience, so be sure to bid generously. The MC’s for the evening are Supersport’s Neil Andrews and KFM’s Sibongile Mafu. After the auction and meal are over, guests will be treated to a special performance by the SA icon Majozi.
