Heritage Day Lunch with Lanzerac and The Giggling Gourmet

Celebrate your heritage with a gourmet feast at a wonderful wine estate

As Capetonians we are certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out. It is not often, however, that two iconic South African brands team up to treat us to a food and wine extravaganza of gastronomic proportions. Lanzerac Hotel’s Executive Chef Stephen Fraser will pair up with renowned foodie Jenny Morris (better known as the Giggling Gourmet) on Saturday, 19 September 2015 at the Lanzerac Estate’s Cellar Hall, in celebration of National Heritage Day. Joining the duo is Lanzerac cellar master Wynand Lategan, who will select impeccable wines to accompany the feast. You can look forward to delectable canapés and welcome drinks upon your arrival, after which you’ll be treated to some of Lanzerac’s limited release Heritage wines. Wynand will demonstrate an expert sabrage (opening of a champagne bottle using a sabre) for a little bit of added excitement.

The three-course gourmet lunch will take place in the newly refurbished Cellar Hall, where an interactive food demonstration will be presented by Stephen and Jenny. In addition, carefully selected wines from Lanzerac’s Premium range will be paired with the lunch to enhance and complement the vibrant flavours of the food.

There will be live entertainment by the Bottomless Coffee Band during the afternoon, as well as two (or three) lucky draw competitions. If you end up enjoying the festivities a little too much, don’t fret. There is overnight accommodation available in one of Lanzerac Hotel’s rooms, available at a discounted price for guests at the lunch. Included in the accommodation price is a scrumptious breakfast that will have you feeling right as rain again.

Tickets to the lunch will cost R595p/p, which includes the welcome drinks, canapés, wine and a goodie bag (containing Lanzerac products). If you are keen on the overnight accommodation option, a single room will cost R1500p/p and a double room will cost R1095p/p sharing.  The luxury rooms and suites will cost R1800p/p for a single room and R1395p/p for a double room.
