When crossing Orange Street you find yourself in what is Cape Towns’ (secret) heart – Company’s Garden. However, there's more to experience than simply getting a hint of history in one of the various museums dotted around, accompanying the avid joggers in the area, or even taking a nap on the grass in the cool shade, with bees humming in your ears. From now on, the Good Company Farmers Market will be a regular Saturday highlight as well.
Situated in the Paddocks area beneath massive Oaks, there could not be a better spot for people to gather together for some fun in the sun. Wander around and experience fresh farmers’ produce, admire a careful selection of retail stalls like Chill Winstan, Nama Collection or Tribal Beading Sandals, and try to decide on a treat (or two? Or three?) to take home with you.
There's a vast selection of food stalls to choose from, including: Spicy Cape Cuisine (traditional Cape Malay with a veggie twist), Sweet Dreams (homemade fudge), Maggino Bros. (artisanal pizza) or Blerrie Boerie (boerie rolls), to name just a few, so you won't be going hungry.
Starting on Saturday, 26 November 2016, there will be a bar service providing all the cool drinks you need, like Striped Horse Craft Beer and selected wines. Background music is also taken care of by different local musicians every week.
Grab your family and friends for a prosperous shopping tour followed by a pretty picnic on the beautiful lawns.
OPENING HOURS FOR THE 2016 GOOD COMPANY FARMERS MARKET IN COMPANY’S GARDEN
Opening hours are from 9am to 3pm every Saturday.
P.S. Dogs on a leash are welcome as well!
