Feel like a leisurely run through the breathtaking city centre during the calm of the weekends? Don your takkies and hit the pavement for one of Get Outside’s Sunday Urban Trail Runs, which happen in and around the bustling city centre. The next one gets underway on Sunday, 11 September 2016 and starts at the Motherland Coffee Co. in Mandela Rhodes Place.
Started by local company Get Outside, these adventures aim to get Mother City folks active and outdoors in an urban environment. Participants are able to see the city centre on foot and get a different perspective on the concrete jungle as they follow chalk arrows drawn on the pavements.
This series of ongoing runs is a sure way to keep your body on track to achieve summer fitness. For those not in the know, according to Get Outside, an urban trail run is a one that doesn’t just stick to pavements, but explores cobbled roads, leafy parks and sneaky side streets.
The run is about 5-km, but it changes every time so it could be slightly shorter or longer. Participants are welcome to get a much-needed shot of caffeine from the ever-popular Motherland Coffee Co. shop, which is also the finishing point of the jog.
TICKETS FOR THE 2016 GET OUTSIDE URBAN TRAIL SUNDAY RUN IN CAPE TOWN
Entry to this fun run is absolutely free, but donations are accepted via Quicket.co.za that will be split between Sporting Chance, an NGO that brings sports to the lives of underprivileged children, and Get Outside to organise the future runs. The run begins at 8:30am sharp.
