Freshlyground Fundraising Concert at Pigalle Restaurant

Give kids the fuel they need for a great start in life by attending this intimate concert with a lekker local band

One of South Africa’s top lekker local acts will be bringing their unique Afro-fusion sound to Pigalle Restaurant in support of Ikamva Labantu’s Fuel2Grow campaign on Sunday, 13 December 2015. If you’re a fan of Freshlyground, don’t miss this opportunity to get up close and personal with your favourite group, whilst enjoying wine, a three-course meal and the upmarket elegance of Pigalle.

Recognised around the world, Freshlyground has released multiple albums to critical acclaim, and continues to be one of the continent’s foremost bands. One of the wonderful things about the group is its incredible diversity, with members hailing from South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe – no doubt a contributing factor to their fresh, varied sound. They’ll be delighting their audience on the night with a selection of hits from albums such as Take Me to the Dance, Ma’Cheri and Radio Africa.

Best of all is the fact that the proceeds from the concert will go to Ikamva Labantu in support of their Fuel2Grow initiative that aims to raise R2.5 million to provide nutritional meals to 650 children from extremely impoverished backgrounds. A hungry child can’t concentrate in school and could develop all manner of illnesses stemming from a lack of proper nutrition. By attending the concert, you’ll be helping to combat hunger and to give children the best foundational start in life.
