With the economic state of affairs in South Africa see-sawing, you’d be wise to master the art of bargain hunting. If you’ve yet to hone this useful (and wallet-friendly) skill, then what better way to start than at the 2016 Factory Shop Expo at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on Saturday, 30 and Sunday, 31 July 2016.
Following a successful 2015 event, the bargain expo promises to be bigger and better, and is set to feature more than 120 brands. From cosmetics to clothing and home décor to health and wellness products, the exhibition vendors are committed to selling hundreds of items at discounted prices. The goods at this deal-finding paradise are ripe for the picking and the expo will be jam-packed with kids’ clothing, food stuffs, toys, women’s wear, pet products, furniture and more.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2016 FACTORY SHOP EXPO IN CAPE TOWN

FASHION AND SHOES: Need to zhoosh up your closet without breaking the bank? Don’t fret, the Factory Expo has, quite literally, got you covered. With everything from designer brands to winter wardrobe staples, this is the ideal guilt-free shopping spree.
SWEET THINGS AND DELI TREATS: This year, the showcase also boasts a range of food stalls featuring dried fruit and nuts as well as various sweets and treats at bargain prices. Shopping can be hungry work, but luckily there are plenty of light bites and other delights to keep your spirits high.
CRAFTERS AND HOBBYISTS: Whether you dabble in floral design, scrapbooking or are just looking for a new book to immerse yourself in, you should definitely head down to this shopping mecca. Avid readers will find a wide variety of new releases, textbooks, and speciality books at ridiculous prices. For those into scrapbooking, the exhibition will host a number of scrapbook, arts and crafts merchants who are sure to stock that embellishment you’ve been searching for along with all kinds of crafty paraphernalia that goes with the trend as well as an extensive range of goodies for your upcoming wedding, function or latest DIY project.
TICKETS FOR THE 2016 FACTORY SHOP EXPO IN CAPE TOWN
Tickets are available online via Computicket.com and cost R50p/p for adults. Children under the age of 10 get in for free. A percentage of the money from each ticket goes to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust, so your money is going to a good cause. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day, but due to the large crowds and long queues, it is highly advisable to pre-purchase your passes.
