Elvis Blue Live at Paul Cluver Wines

Listen to the moving melodies of this Idols SA winner

Settle down and cuddle up to an outdoor picnic concert in the stunning eucalyptus tree forest amphitheatre at Paul Cluver Wines. The headline for this musical journey is the gifted Elvis Blue, who will serenade the audience with a variety of his English and Afrikaans songs as part of the Hope@PaulCluver Summer Festival, on Saturday, 28 January 2017.

Elvis Blue is a multi award-winning singer and songwriter who shot to fame after winning the 2010 season of Idols SA. In a true mark of his character, he shared his winnings with runner-up Lloyd Cele. Elvis’s generous nature is perfectly suited to this charity concert, where all of the proceeds will be given to the Thembalitsha Foundation for education, training and healthcare in impoverished Western Cape communities.

If you’re unfamiliar with Elvis Blue’s music, just know that three of his albums have reached platinum status. His first album after his Idols SA victory was released less than one month later and received gold status before the end of 2010. It then went platinum the following year, making Elvis the first Idols SA winner to have ever released a platinum-selling debut album, and the first Idols winner world-wide to release an album within 30 days of being crowned.

The Paul Cluver amphitheatre is a unique and magical venue – a mere 45-minute drive from Cape Town – offering guests a comfortable evening under the stars surrounded by a forest of towering trees; a feature which provides the natural acoustics for this open-air venue.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets, cushions and picnic baskets, but no alcohol (brought from home) will be allowed in the venue. Instead, Paul Cluver wine, Cluver & Jack cider and Triggerfish craft beer can be purchased at the event, as well as selection of delicious food. Keep in mind that even though it’s summer, the nights can get chilly, so pack something warm to wear too.

Tickets to the concert are available online via Computicket.com and will cost R200p/p. Tickets are limited so get yours soon to avoid disappointment, and there will be no tickets on sale at the venue.

The doors open at 5pm, the headlining performance starts at 7pm and the amphitheatre will close at 10pm. Do note that fold-up chairs, tables and prams are not permitted in the amphitheatre.
