Elgin Food and Gift Fair

Stock up on gifts for the upcoming festive season with this quaint family-friendly fun-fair in Elgin Valley.

The festive season is creeping up on most of us, and soon the need for gifts and wrapping paper will be overwhelming. If you’re at a loss for finding exceptional gifts for your loved ones, the Elgin Food and Gift Fair on the Oneiric Wine Farm happens from Saturday, 1 to Sunday, 8 November 2014.

Situated in the awe-inspiring Overberg region, this charming affair is set to be filled with an array of delectable goodies, perfect handmade Christmas gifts and fun for the entire family. Make a day of it and prepare to get stocked up on merry festive necessities like pretty gift wrapping paper, crafty tags and Christmas decorations. The arts and crafts market has abundance of gift-worthy goodies from organic olive oils, handmade kitchen decor to 100% natural skin care products. Take home a bit of the Elgin Valley with you in the form of a bottle of Oneiric wine, which will be on sale at the fair. Do your shopping early and miss the manic masses in overcrowded malls by having a pleasant experience surrounding by delightful country scenery.

The fair will showcase artisanal produce from local producers, so you can look forward to delicious homemade breads and slices of heavenly, handmade fudge. If you’re thirsty and wanting more than just your average cold beverage, you can try out the craft beer stalls stocking beer locally produced in the Elgin region on or opt for a glass of local vino for your refreshment of choice.  

Kids are also in for a treat with face-painting on offer to keep them occupied, and can choose to take a trot on the wild side, with fun-filled pony rides happening for little ones who love playing with animals. If your tyke is a bit more adventurous, let them jump on the tractor ride and explore the the bountiful lands in the surrounding area. Bring your picnic baskets, blankets and umbrellas for fun in the magnificent Overberg countryside.

The fair runs over two weekends in early November and will correspond with the Elgin Open Gardens event happening over those weekends.

Entry into the event costs R20 per car that enters the farm, and can be purchased at the gate.
