The practice of exercising under a full moon is a reasonably popular one, but most come in the form of a hike up Lions Head. Well, not this time people. Take part in a casual 5-km run, mountain bike ride or hike at the picturesque Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville on Friday, 20 May 2016.
This event has been created by the lovely people behind the Reach for a Dream Foundation, who work tirelessly to inspire hope and fulfill the dreams of children fighting life-threatening illnesses. You may have heard of the Dream Riders initiative, or even Slipper Day, well these folks are the ones behind it all, and they definitely deserve your support.
Registration for the race will take place on the day of the event, but only at 5pm. As it is a ’full-moon’ hike, run and ride, the event cannot commence until sundown so pack warmly as autumn evenings are rather chill in our lovely city.
Not only does this event benefit an amazingly deserving cause and satisfy your monthly exercise allowance, it also yields prizes! These prizes include sports gear and Carlucci’s meal vouchers (hint: try their Carlucci’s Classic burger, you won’t regret it).
TICKETS FOR THE 2016 DREAM CHASERS FULL MOON RUN, HIKE AND RIDE AT MEERENDAL WINE ESTATE
Tickets must be purchased on the day of the event, and you can register at the same time! The entrance fee is R50p/p, and that includes a boerewors roll and a cold beverage.
