Runners, cyclists and swimmers, it’s time to gear up for the Discovery Get Active Weekend taking place in our fair city on Saturday, 11 February 2018.
Challenge yourself, or round up a team, to a duathlon (running and cycling) or a triathlon (running, cycling and swimming) at this action-packed event. There are various course distances to choose from, most of which only require a moderate level of fitness.
What makes the Discovery Get Active Weekend even more appealing is that the world’s top triathletes, including Olympic and World Champions, will be there too for the ITU Triathlon World Cup, the only event of its kind on the African continent.
The events take place at various iconic venues around the city, including Green Point Common, Three Anchor Bay and Quay 6 at the V&A Waterfront for the start of the swimming in the triathlons.
It promises to be a great day out, so even if you’re not participating be sure to make a day of it and support the runners, cyclists and swimmers as they strut their stuff.
The different races and distances will happen on the one day, between 8am to 5pm. For more information and to register visit www.triathlon.capetown. There will be no registration on the day of the either event.
ENTRY FOR THE DISCOVERY GET ACTIVE WEEKEND 2018
The cost of an entry depends on which race you would like to take part in, and whether you’re entering as an individual or in a team. Entry costs range from R195/p to R1500 for a team.
Interested in other events this February? Or looking for a picnic venue at the Green Point Park? We also have a list of things to do in Sea Point.
